DHT Orientation

Interested In Becoming A Member of DHT?

Do you find yourself helping youth or young adults understand the Catholic faith? Have you ever been challenged to explain the faith? Do you have a desire to help young people better understand their faith and come closer to Christ? Or maybe, time and time again, you find yourself speaking about the Catholic Faith to your family and friends at work, school, or in your neighborhood.

You've probably experienced one of these situations, but the real question we want to ask you is, "Is God calling you to bring the Catholic Faith to his young people?"

DHT is looking for those, men and women, interested in wanting to bring the Gospel to the youth and young adult communities in New York. If this is not for you then DELETE THIS MESSAGE NOW! Or you can sit back, relax and read what DHT is all about. Maybe our mission might be what God is calling you to. Here is our mission statement:

"Defenders of the Holy Trinity is an apostolate dedicated to the service of Catholic youth and young adults, desiring to lead them to greater conversion and holiness, thus building up the Kingdom of God – the Church. The Defenders of the Holy Trinity do this by way of evangelization, apologetics, and catechesis, responding to the call of Our Lord and those of Sts. Peter and Paul. Evangelization – 'Preach the word, be urgent in season and out of season, convince, rebuke and exhort…' (2 Tim, 4:2); that of St. Peter, Apologetics – 'Always be prepared to make a defense to anyone …' (1 Pet. 3:15); and that of Our Lord, Catechesis – "Go therefore and make disciples… teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. '(Matt. 28 19-20)."

Might this mission be for you?

A SPECIAL LETTER TO COORDINATORS

Dear Coordinator

Peace and Grace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ be with you.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing. (Eph 1:3)

As you probably heard, DHT is beginning its new formation program for those who wish to join in our mission. The program will give members of DHT the opportunity to give talks to youth and young adults, focusing on Evangelization, Apologetics, and Catechesis.

We understand that some groups are looking for ways to get their servers, volunteers, or leaders reacquainted with the teachings of the Church and to build a more structured prayer life.

Keeping this in mind, DHT is offering our services to groups and ministries that serve Catholic youth and young adults, a formation program to strengthen your team.

Does this mean that your team would be official members of DHT? NO!

DHT has always expressed our support for groups that have an authentic mission that is in support of the Church. We can allow members of different groups to study under DHT, but they must comply with the demands of the group or ministry, committing themselves in the same manner as new members of DHT. As the coordinator of your group or ministry, you should be notified and approve the commitment. Their instruction will be for 1-2 years, depending on the approval of the coordinating team of DHT. This does not make them members of DHT since they represent your group or ministry. Our job is to form, instruct and aid them in the development of the groups they serve. This will help strengthen our fellowship as groups committed to building a Holy New York.

IF YOU APPROVE – WHAT THE MEMBERS OF YOUR GROUP WILL LEARN

DHT will work on the structure, formation and religious instruction of your members. We will share with your members our devotion, our prayer life, our rule, our commitment as a fellowship, and our mission. By experiencing our work, they will in turn help in the formation and strengthening of your group or ministry, so that future members will be prepared to lead. We also encourage you as the coordinator to participate in their training, as they will need your support in some of the difficult tasks they will be doing, such as preaching, teaching, and lecturing (indoors and outdoors). They will have available resources on the teachings of the Church and on youth and young adult ministry. They will also be trained in specific areas such as developing teams of communications, activities, evangelization, and possible coordination of new or old groups. Here is an example of what they will learn:

Introductory Subjects:

1) The Role of DHT Members
2) The Prayer Life of DHT
3) Pubic Speaking / Evangelization, Apologetics and Catechesis
4) Youth and Young Adult Ministry
5) The Most Holy Trinity
6) And more...

More is to follow after we are finished with the subject on “The Most Holy Trinity”.

All students, both future members of DHT and those of other groups or ministries will go through an intense curriculum, making them capable of bringing the Gospel message to the hearts of youth and young adults of New York.

If you or any or your members would like to participate in this program, please give us:
